Parents are not going to be aware of "what's in the music" by looking at a sticker. Zappa's "Jazz from Hell" has a sticker on it warning about 'explicit content'. The entire album is pure jazz with no lyrics. What Tipper and folks like Al have done is give power over to folks who despite little to no knowledge of music as an artform impose black and white judgements on what constitutes good and bad.

well really..what the hell is wrong with saying that kids cant buy certin records..or at least just make it so that parents are aware of what is in the music.

This is reason enough to dislike Gore. His wifey Tipper and her crusading to put those stickers on records. What a conservative republican thing to do. The real tragedy here is that Frank Zappa never lived long enough to run for presidency as he had intended. If these people are liberals the realization of what the conservatives are sends shivers down my spine. These people are scum - this is nothing but more of the kind of government intervention that will erase our Internet freedoms. |
