I predicted Matthew Mitcham to win the gold, and I was right! If anyone saw my video "Gold Medal Contenders" a week before the opening; I showcased him as one of the Gold Medalists and being out and gay was a plus. I channelled all my positive energies towards these people who I knew deep in my heart deserved a gold.

Ignorance about even "out" gay athletes is no excuse for the media. They perpetuate such"invisibility" by heavily editing or omitting stories like Matt's that have global impact and historical context. (Click more info link at right). This is Bud's fifth attempt to report the significance of Matthew's complete story and to confront the prejudicial forces that conspire to deny it. Thank him, as well as Matthew, for their perseverance and courage to refute hypocrisy, homophobia, and defeat.
