Microsoft Windows 98, originally released in March 1998, running in VMware. Windows 98 Second Edition, featured here, was released in May 1999. Neither version is a very significant upgrade above Windows 95, and to this day I cannot imagine why it seems more popular... all the APIs and internal things are pretty much the same, the only real changes were Windows Explorer/Internet Explorer, the titlebar gradient, and menu animations.To see more screenshots, visit http://toastytech.com/guis/
