A traffic stop was attempted by Lake County Police at approximately 40th and Grant in Gary Indiana, but the perp fled in a slow speed chase that went from 40th to the 13200 block of Indiana. Stop strips were deployed once at 71st and Merrillville Road which the perp avoided, the second set of strips were deployed at 93rd and Monroe which worked. The car came to a rest at 132nd. The perp was taken into custody after a short struggle. A crack pipe was found by officers in the front seat of the stolen car. The perp actually admitted to smoking crack while the pursuit was in progress. He is facing multiple charges.

First off never delete photos you have taken, read the law it is published. There are a few, not all, cops that think they are gods and can rule your every move. They have no idea about the laws the govern over the freedom of press. You have every right to be at a scene and photograph that scene. If there is crime scene tape just stay behind. I get harassed more than you will ever know and I give it right back. Never been locked-up, but am ready to go for my freedom. Email if you need anything

Not in a million years would I be a cop, lived with one for 24 years, and doesn't matter if you are a cop there it was a text book arrest. If it was an issue I would have been asked to leave the scene, but all the officers were cool. You must have not been there so relax spanky

Hey loser. If you want to be the police go to the academy. Until then get a life. Leave the police work to the police. As far as officers getting in trouble, you took video of officers frommy PD and in the video there is footage that could get the officers in trouble.
