What hippy is going to drive ANY Tahoe?
Helpmefly (July 20, 2008 at 11:33 pm)
That's true!! Why do americans like to drive in a car that has 6.0L if they are not allowed to drive more then 85 miles/hour??It seems to me, like GM creates a new engine, then they build a car around it, with bad brakes and a bad suspension.

I am not saying that all their cars are badddd !!!! however and hopefully they will improve to a level that is acceptable

They are also having trouble with all the trucks and suvs that they cant sell. "Automaker plans to shut 4 pickup and SUV plants, build more fuel-efficient vehicles, and may dump the Hummer brand."-source from money cnn and do u know how many trucks and suv they cant sell and its just sitting there like a piece of junk??

I agreed with afthompson81, one way you can tell that GM is "going to be out of the job " by looking at their stock. Gm was one of the biggest and best compony way back then. if u look at its stock back then they are doing darn good but look at them know, its as cheap as dirt know.

Yes I knew that. So WITH the cylinders cutting out, and WITH the hybrid drive...it STILL gets worse economy than a diesel engine. The GL managed 24mpg OVERALL and the Tahoe 21mpg. I think the boys at GM are going to be out of a job soon.

I don't know about you, but a large vehicle that get's 21 city/ 22 highway with a "stupidly large 6.0L V8" seems pretty reasonable to me. And did you know what? The cylinders in the Tahoe can be cut out during travel when they aren't needed. Once you get up to highway speed, it goes down to 4 cylinders unless the throttle senses a greater need for power such as towing or passing.I think they boys at GM did pretty darn good. |
