Longside and a little bit of showing off. Most of the drifters I know have done a longslide out of desperation to pull of a perfect drift. Most longslides in real life start with a shallow corner and hammering the ebrake for a second to start the drift. From there you normally continue to use the ebrake and throttle as you loose speed to enter the corner. So this is topically done in high 3rd gear.In game however the ebrake does not always want to be your friend so I start my longslides with a feint or shift lock or both. The key is to enter a drift insanely early and exit as late as you can. The reason I said most people I know who drift have performed a long slide is because longslides involve shifting down a gear or two to keep the drift going. Many of us have practice doing this while we are just starting to learn to drift. Training tips:Enter the corner while your still on the straight away, all you need is a gentle curve to drift.Turn back into the corner if you see you are gaining too much traction and shift down to keep revs high.Practice drifting an underpowered car to force you to shift down in a drift.Practice drifting on the OUTSIDE edge of the corner only, this turns most corners in touge into long slide corners.Faster cars obviously have an advantage on performing a longslide however you can do it just as well in a torqued up car that is not as fast.
